We host and care for your website.

And we build what sits behind it: a backend CRM, a custom web app, or a mobile app. DadDigital designs and builds the software. Ascent stays with you on what it should do.

The work we take on

A hosted site, a CRM, or an app.

Some organisations need the public site hosted and kept current. Some need a record of people, teams, or clients that the staff can trust. Some need a web app or a mobile app that follows the way the work already runs. Ascent can take up any of those, and stay.

Hosted website

The public site, hosted and looked after. Updates happen, forms come in, and someone is still there after launch.

From $500 a year for hosting and the creation of a static site, like this one you are on right now.

Backend CRM

The staff's own record of people, teams, donors, or clients. The organisation keeps the data, and someone checks a change before it is treated as public.

Web or mobile app

When a product off the shelf will not fit the work. DadDigital builds the web app or the mobile app. Ascent stays with you on what it should do, in plain language.

In conversation

Two kinds of organisation.

These are the sorts of conversations we have. They are not a list of finished case studies.

Two adults talking in a quiet room with daylight, armchairs, and a small timber table.

A counselling practice with a real client record

A counselling practice that already has several practitioners needs one quiet record of its clients. The people who work there have to see who is coming, what was agreed, and what is still open, without bending a generic product around the sessions.

We can host the website and, behind it, shape a CRM around how the practice already works. The sessions stay the point.

Three colleagues in a modest office, one holding a phone, gathered at a timber desk.

A business or ministry that has outgrown its spreadsheets

Your business or ministry might run across a few sites, or be one office with people working from home. Either way, a shared inbox and a pile of spreadsheets stop being enough. You need a tool that streamlines the office, keeps one record everyone trusts, and saves real money by saving staff hours.

The same conversation can take in the website, hosted and looked after, and a backend CRM or a mobile app the staff use away from the desk. The organisation keeps its own data. DadDigital builds the software, and Ascent stays in the decisions.

Strategic partnership

DadDigital builds it. Ascent walks with you.

DadDigital is Damien Sawyer’s practice in Melbourne. On tickets.org.au he is the technical co-founder. On a new web application the split is the same kind of partnership: Ascent holds the relationship and the shape of the product, and DadDigital writes the software and carries it in production.

That partnership continues, including through tickets.org.au version 3 in 2027. The useful question is who answers when the system is live and a real event, or a real Tuesday, depends on it.

Technical partner

DadDigital

Custom software, from the application through to the platform it runs on. Thirty years in the work, and production systems kept running for the long haul.

  1. 2017 Ascent founded. Tickets live.
  2. 2020 Tickets version 2
  3. 2027 Tickets version 3. Ten years.

Our product with DadDigital

tickets.org.au

An online ticketing system for community, not-for-profit and ministry events. Version 1 went live in 2017, the year Ascent was founded. Version 2 was released in 2020. In 2027 the product turns ten, and version 3 debuts.

tickets.org.au is Ascent Solutions and DadDigital’s own product. It is an example of the applications this team can make: software that integrates with other platforms and works with all kinds of data.

  • An event page your community can find and book on.
  • Tickets, registrations and check-in in the one place.
  • Free tickets stay free. Pricing is set so more of the takings stay with the organiser.

Version 3 is a new release, with a new set of features and AI built in, made to take on the leading names in event management. The partnership with DadDigital continues.

The work

A CRM, a web app, or a mobile app.

An organisation with real records to keep often ends up bending a generic product around work it was never built for. We start from the work itself: who uses it, what has to be recorded, and what someone needs on a Tuesday morning.

The application

People, teams, donors, and applications, and the staff tools around them. A CRM when the record is the work. A web app or a mobile app when the process belongs to your organisation.

One partnership

You talk with Ascent. DadDigital is the technical partner: the architecture, the build, and the care of the system once people depend on it.

Still looked after

Launch is the start. The same partnership stays available when the organisation changes and the application needs to change with it.

How an engagement goes

Listen first. Then build.

  1. 01

    Consult

A free conversation. We learn the organisation, the people, and whether the need is a hosted website, a backend CRM, or a web or mobile app.

  2. 02

    Shape

We agree the size of the job, and what it should leave alone, so the work stays honest.

  3. 03

    Build

For a website, Ascent hosts it and sets it up with you. For a CRM, a web app, or a mobile app, DadDigital designs and builds it, and Ascent stays in the decisions.

  4. 04

    Keep

It goes live on infrastructure that can be looked after, and the partnership continues.
